Fitness Techniques For All Ages

As our name suggest, Fitness Made Simple aims to introduce you to a range of fitness techniques to help you achieve the level of fitness that you want without making it a difficult or complicated task.

We like to think of ourselves as your lifetime fitness club where you can forget about the physical fitness training programs and physical fitness exercises of the past which were often characterized by those boring hours of 'circuit training'.

Today it is much more a question of enjoying a lifetime of fitness through balancing health, diet, nutrition and fitness and enjoying the benefits of what many people now call the new age of American family fitness.

Fitness is essential for health and exercise should be part of your daily routine. However, if exercise is not also fun then you're simply not going to stick at it so there's little point in adopting any fitness techniques unless you are happy that you are going to find them enjoyable as well as rewarding.

There are thousands of different physical fitness training programs available today from custom fitness programs designed to meet your specific needs to very basic physical fitness exercises consisting of little more than a daily brisk walk with the dog.

Choosing a program that best suits your needs is not as difficult as it might seem and, once you have defined your objective in terms of the improvement that you wish to see in your general health and the specific targets you wish to meet in terms of your body's performance, then finding a suitable and fun exercise program to meet this is not that hard at all.

And exercise does not have to be expensive either. Many exercises require little or no equipment at all - you can do an easy ab exercise lying on the rug with your feet tucked under the end of the bed. If you do decide to kit out your own home gym then your local exercise equipment dealer can get you up and running fairly reasonably if he is worth his salt. Indeed, many will offer exercise equipment rental so that you can 'try before you buy'.

Whatever information you are looking for, Fitness Made Simple will try to provide it for you, either through our main site pages or the articles which we add regularly. So, please take a few minutes to check out the menu on the left-hand side of this page and look through our growing collection of physical fitness articles to find the answer you are looking for.

Some terms commonly used in the world of physical fitness training:

Anaerobic threshold: The physiological point during exercise at which the muscles start using more oxygen than the body can transport, and as a result, the work of the muscles starts producing more lactic acid than the body can process.

Glycogen: The form in which carbohydrates are stored in the body, mainly in the muscles and the liver.

Maximal exercise stress test: A test performed in laboratory conditions, usually either on stationary bicycle or treadmill, to measure a person's maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max,). The test also provides a measurement of the person's maximum heart rate (HRmax).
